Following the Hard Summer Festival party, a shooting in Los Angeles left two people dead and six injured

A tragic shooting during an after-party for the Hard Summer music festival in downtown Los Angeles has left two people dead and six others injured. The incident unfolded early Monday morning at a warehouse complex, turning a night of celebration into chaos and sorrow.

Los Angeles police initially responded to the party around 11 p.m. on Sunday following reports of an armed individual entering the venue. Officers reportedly broke up the large gathering and detained the suspect at the time. However, the situation escalated hours later when gunfire erupted around 1 a.m.

The event had been promoted online as an unofficial after-party for the Hard Summer festival, which took place over the weekend at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. Many festival-goers had reportedly traveled to the downtown party afterward.

When police returned to the scene, they discovered a man dead and several others wounded. A woman later died at a nearby hospital, bringing the death toll to two. Six people in total were taken to local hospitals with gunshot injuries, though their current conditions have not been made public.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with people scrambling for safety amid the gunfire. One local resident told KABC-TV that his 29-year-old son was among the deceased.

Authorities have not yet announced any additional arrests or clarified the motive behind the shooting. The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate and is urging anyone with information or footage from the party to come forward as they try to piece together what led to the violence.
