Nithin Kamath of Zerodha on the one ability AI cannot replace

Zerodha founder and CEO Nithin Kamath emphasized that curiosity is a timeless skill that will remain valuable even in an age where artificial intelligence is rapidly advancing. He explained that while AI can take over tasks that used to consume hours of human effort, curiosity is something that machines cannot replicate, making it a key advantage for people.

Kamath highlighted that curiosity should not be restricted to one’s immediate role but should extend to the broader environment. He encouraged individuals to be curious about processes, explore how others work, and look for ways to solve both their own problems and those of others.

His remarks came in response to a discussion on Zerodha’s internal forum, where a team member asked which skill would stay relevant as AI becomes more capable. Kamath’s answer was simple and direct—curiosity.

According to him, the willingness to learn, explore, and experiment is what will set people apart in an AI-driven world. While technology continues to evolve at an extraordinary pace, the human quality of curiosity—the drive to seek knowledge and discover new possibilities—will always remain essential.
