Over Rs 34 crore was made by the PM's Mann ki Baat radio show: Government

The government recently informed the Rajya Sabha that the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and produced by Akashvani, has generated a revenue of ₹34.13 crore since it first aired on October 3, 2014. According to Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, the programme is created using existing in-house resources of Akashvani, without any additional financial outlay. The broadcast is disseminated across a variety of platforms to ensure maximum reach among audiences both in India and abroad. It is aired live on Akashvani’s national and regional networks, with regional language versions catering to vernacular listeners. Furthermore, the programme is simultaneously televised on Doordarshan’s national and regional language channels.

Murugan added that the programme is also accessible via DD Free Dish, which carries 48 Akashvani radio channels and 92 private television channels, ensuring broad outreach, even in rural and remote regions. To enhance audience interaction and collective engagement, the visual presentation of 'Mann Ki Baat' encourages group viewership and fosters community dialogue. The programme is made available through digital avenues, including live streaming and archives on YouTube via channels such as PMO India and AIR. It can also be accessed through Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform WAVES and the 'NewsOnAIR' mobile application, which features over 260 Akashvani channels.

Additionally, the programme is distributed using Prasar Bharati’s news feed service PB SHABD, thereby enabling a broader reach through affiliated platforms. 'Mann Ki Baat' enjoys substantial engagement across major social media platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram, which helps connect a global audience to the Prime Minister’s address.
