BJP Minority Morcha chairman requests a fatwa against the individual who mistreated his mother and the prime minister

BJP Minority Morcha national president Jamal Siddiqui, in a letter to Darul Uloom’s principal, Maulana Abdullah Mujahid, condemned the remarks made by Mohammad Rizvi, calling them “deeply offensive” and “against Islamic teachings.” He urged the seminary to issue a fatwa against Rizvi, who had insulted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother in Bihar.

Rizvi, a puncture repair worker from Darbhanga, was caught on video using abusive language after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Darbhanga. The clip quickly spread across social media. Following the incident, the BJP lodged an FIR in Patna and demanded an apology from the Congress party. Rizvi was later arrested and sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

In his letter, Siddiqui stated that the act was not merely an attack on one family but also a violation of Islamic principles, especially the duty to honor parents. He referred to Surah Al-Isra (17:23) and Hadiths, highlighting Prophet Muhammad’s teaching that mothers are “gateways to paradise.”

Calling the matter “serious and sensitive,” Siddiqui appealed to Darul Uloom’s scholars to issue a Shariah-based fatwa against Rizvi’s words. He argued that such a step would serve as both a corrective measure for the individual and a reaffirmation of the community’s moral values.

He further added that such conduct fuels social tension and damages the image of the Muslim community. Therefore, he stressed the need for a strong religious denunciation to uphold integrity and harmony. Siddiqui also attached video evidence and media reports along with his letter to strengthen his appeal.
