Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership, accusing them of indulging in corruption, internal rivalries, and betrayal. Responding to allegations made by former BRS leader K Kavitha, who claimed that he was conspiring against the party, Reddy firmly denied any involvement and dismissed such accusations as baseless and disgraceful. He stated that the BRS was collapsing under the weight of its own misdeeds, with leaders backstabbing one another while pretending to maintain unity.
Elaborating on the party’s internal strife, Reddy remarked that in the past, BRS leaders had suppressed dissent by fabricating cases against their own members and imprisoning them. Now, he said, the party was consumed by bitter feuds over the sharing of corruption proceeds, leading to open conflicts within what was once projected as a united family. In sharp words, he described the ongoing infighting as leaders “stabbing each other in the stomach while pretending to embrace,” suggesting that the BRS no longer needed external opponents to bring about its downfall, as it was destroying itself from within.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that no sin goes unpunished, asserting that the corruption and betrayals of the past would continue to haunt those responsible. He rejected claims that he was supporting or standing behind any of the warring BRS leaders, making it clear that he had no interest in aligning with what he termed “disgraceful” individuals or conspirators. His remarks were a direct rebuttal to Kavitha’s accusation that the seeds of conspiracies against her were planted during a Delhi visit when Harish Rao allegedly sought Reddy’s support.
Meanwhile, the crisis within BRS deepened further as K Kavitha was suspended from the party following her sharp criticism of senior leaders, including her cousin, T Harish Rao. In a dramatic move, she also resigned from her position as Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). Reacting to the developments, BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused both the Congress and the BJP of colluding to malign party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and plotting to file cases against him, suggesting that external forces were also trying to exploit the party’s current turmoil.
The escalating war of words and growing fissures within the BRS signal a period of deep political instability for the party, as accusations of corruption, betrayal, and conspiracy dominate the narrative and overshadow any attempts at damage control.
