Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested by the Delhi Police on rape charges following allegations made by a woman who claimed he sexually assaulted her during a house party in the capital. The incident is said to have taken place in the second week of August, inside the washroom of a friend’s residence, where the party was being held. According to investigators, Kapoor first came into contact with the complainant through Instagram and later extended an invitation to her for the gathering.
In her initial complaint, the woman named Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unidentified persons as accused. However, she later revised her statement, specifying that it was Kapoor who had raped her. She further alleged that the incident had been recorded on video, though the police have stated that no such footage has been recovered so far. The complainant also accused the friend’s wife of physically assaulting her outside the washroom after the alleged act.
Interestingly, police confirmed that the PCR call reporting the matter was made by the friend’s wife, and the investigation into the case remains underway. Authorities are continuing to examine the sequence of events and the roles of others present at the party.
