A man harasses a woman and tries to draw her in while driving a car with a UP government sticker

A man identified as Aadesh Mishra, a resident of Kaushalpuri, has been arrested in Hardoi after allegedly molesting a woman late on Saturday night at the Roadways bus stand. Mishra, who was driving a car bearing a sticker labeled “Uttar Pradesh Shasan,” reportedly approached the woman, offered her money, and tried to force her into his vehicle. The incident came to light when the woman raised an alarm, drawing the attention of nearby locals who intervened and helped stop the accused. Police soon arrived at the scene and detained both the man and the car.

According to police reports, the woman, a native of Baghauli, had been visiting her sister in the city and was waiting at the bus stand to return home when the incident occurred. Mishra allegedly halted his car beside her, passed obscene comments, and offered ₹1,000 for her to accompany him. When she refused, he allegedly attempted to drag her inside the vehicle.

Hearing her cries for help, nearby passersby quickly gathered and surrounded the car. Her husband, who reached the spot shortly afterward, also assisted in restraining the accused. The police were informed through Dial 112, and the accused was promptly taken into custody.

City Circle Officer Ankit Mishra confirmed that a formal case has been registered based on the woman’s complaint. He stated that the accused has been arrested and that further legal proceedings are underway.

Initial investigation revealed that although the car carried a government sticker, it was actually a privately owned vehicle, and Aadesh Mishra worked as a driver for a government official. The police said that interrogation is in progress and assured that strict action will be taken following the completion of the inquiry.
