After reorganization, 25 Gujarati ministers received portfolios, and Rivaba Jadeja received adult education

After the announcement of Gujarat’s new cabinet earlier today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government revealed the detailed allocation of portfolios among 25 state ministers, signifying a strategic reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi continues to hold the crucial Home Ministry, consolidating his position as a key figure in the state’s administrative and security framework. Alongside this, Sanghavi also oversees Police, Housing, Jail, Border Security, and several other important departments that play a central role in maintaining law and order and ensuring internal stability. Kanubhai Patel retained charge of the Finance Department, highlighting the government’s preference for continuity in economic and fiscal policy management.

In a move that attracted significant attention, Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, has been entrusted with the portfolios of Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education. Her inclusion signals the BJP’s focus on promoting new leadership and women’s representation in governance, particularly in sectors that directly influence the state’s social development and educational landscape. The party appears intent on reinforcing its image as a promoter of inclusivity while maintaining a balance between experienced and emerging figures within its cabinet.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel continues to hold several critical portfolios that encompass the state’s administrative and developmental machinery. His responsibilities include the General Administration, Administrative Reforms and Training, Planning, Non-Resident Gujaratis’ Division, Revenue and Disaster Management, and Roads, Buildings, and Capital. By retaining these vital departments, the Chief Minister ensures direct oversight over Gujarat’s infrastructural development, disaster management framework, and long-term planning strategies, reaffirming his central role in shaping the state’s growth trajectory.

Rushikesh Ganeshbhai Patel has been given charge of Energy and Petrochemicals, Panchayat and Rural Housing, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs. These assignments indicate an emphasis on strengthening the energy sector, empowering rural governance, and ensuring smooth legislative coordination within the state government. His expanded responsibilities also reflect the government’s intent to integrate policy reforms across both urban and rural sectors for balanced development.

Following the cabinet expansion, the newly formed council of ministers convened its first meeting in Gandhinagar. The meeting primarily focused on orienting the ministers towards implementing more effective public welfare measures. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi underscored the importance of accountability and people-centric governance, emphasizing that each department must translate government policies into tangible benefits for citizens.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, during the session, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing ministers for their dedication and service to the state. He acknowledged their contributions as instrumental in maintaining Gujarat’s reputation for administrative efficiency and proactive governance. Patel’s message was both one of gratitude and motivation, aimed at encouraging the new cabinet members to continue the tradition of diligence and innovation.

Adding to the state’s growing prestige, the Chief Minister congratulated Gujarat’s Sports Department for successfully positioning Ahmedabad as the host city for the Commonwealth Games 2030. He announced that the organising committee had formally approved preparations, marking a major milestone for Gujarat on the international sports stage. This development is expected to boost infrastructure, tourism, and global recognition for the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi further stated that all ministers will officially assume charge of their respective portfolios starting Saturday. He reiterated his appreciation for the efforts of the previous ministers, acknowledging their relentless work in driving policy implementation and state development. Sanghavi concluded by affirming the government’s collective commitment to furthering Gujarat’s progress through a renewed administrative vision and enhanced cooperation across departments.
