MNS employees assault and slap the salon owner for acting inappropriately with a female employee

A shocking incident in Maharashtra’s Raigad district has come to light, where a salon owner was brutally assaulted by a group of workers from Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The assault allegedly stemmed from accusations that the salon owner had mistreated female employees and failed to pay their salaries.

A viral video of the episode captures MNS workers calmly entering the salon before encircling the owner and launching a violent attack. The footage shows them repeatedly slapping, punching, and kicking the man as he tries to shield himself, rubbing his face and head in pain while pleading for mercy. Amid the chaos, the woman employee who had accused the owner of harassment and salary denial can be heard confronting him during the altercation.

According to reports, the woman had been working at the Kamothe-based salon for several months but had not received her due wages. After several failed attempts to recover her salary, she approached local MNS workers for help. The group accompanied her to the salon to demand an explanation from the owner. Eyewitnesses stated that during the confrontation, the owner allegedly used abusive and derogatory language toward the woman, prompting the MNS members to resort to violence.

The incident adds to a growing list of similar cases in recent months where MNS workers have been recorded assaulting individuals across Maharashtra. Many of these confrontations have reportedly been linked to issues surrounding the use of the Marathi language or perceived disrespect toward local residents.

Just a week earlier, another case drew attention when a female MNS worker slapped a non-Marathi woman at Thane railway station following a dispute. The woman had allegedly insulted the MNS worker’s husband and made offensive remarks about the Marathi language. Later, the non-Marathi woman was brought to the party office and asked to publicly apologise to the people of Maharashtra. Moments after she apologised, the MNS worker struck her across the face as a “lesson,” reinforcing the party’s aggressive stance on issues tied to regional pride and respect.

The recurring nature of such incidents has sparked debate over the MNS’s methods of enforcing social accountability and raised serious questions about law and order, mob justice, and the misuse of political power at the local level.
