OnePlus has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, in China, marking a major leap in design, performance, and imaging innovation. The new handset is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and houses a large 7,300mAh battery, ensuring top-tier performance and extended power life. Significantly, this model also introduces OnePlus’ proprietary DetailMax imaging engine, signaling a shift away from the company’s previous Hasselblad-branded camera systems. Interestingly, OnePlus decided to skip the “14” branding, as the number four is traditionally considered unlucky in Chinese culture. Alongside the flagship, the company also released the OnePlus Ace 6, which may later debut in India as the OnePlus 15R.
In terms of design, the OnePlus 15 features a refreshed look compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. The device sports a square-shaped rear camera module and a matte-finish back panel that exudes a minimalist yet premium aesthetic. OnePlus claims the smartphone’s frame has been crafted using microspace-grade nano-ceramic metal, offering both durability and a sophisticated finish. Adding to its robust design credentials, the OnePlus 15 comes with multiple protection ratings — IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K — providing exceptional resistance against dust, splashes, and water ingress.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 15 ditches Hasselblad branding in favor of the new in-house imaging platform called DetailMax (referred to as Lumo in China). The smartphone carries a triple-camera setup, with all three lenses featuring 50-megapixel sensors—a primary, an ultrawide, and a telephoto camera. Although the sensors are physically smaller than those found in the OnePlus 13, the new imaging engine aims to compensate by optimizing light processing and image detail. For selfies and video calls, the device houses a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which promises unmatched speed and energy efficiency. Complementing the main processor is a dedicated G2 gaming chip, designed to deliver smoother graphics performance and enhanced frame stability during extended gaming sessions.
The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a blazing-fast 165Hz refresh rate, setting a new standard for OnePlus displays. The panel boasts ultra-thin 1.15mm bezels and is supported by a Display P3 chip that enhances color accuracy and brightness levels for a more immersive visual experience. To ensure sustained high performance, the device employs an advanced Glacier vapor cooling system that manages heat effectively during heavy usage.
Powering all this is a massive 7,300mAh battery, the largest ever in a OnePlus flagship. The phone supports 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, allowing users to recharge quickly and efficiently. This setup makes the OnePlus 15 one of the most power-dense and fast-charging smartphones currently available.
As for availability, the OnePlus 15 has launched exclusively in China for now, priced at 3,999 Yuan (approximately ₹50,000) for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. A global rollout—including India—is expected in mid-November, though the company has yet to confirm the official pricing. Market expectations suggest that the Indian price will align closely with that of the OnePlus 13, which retailed at ₹72,999.
With its upgraded specifications, cutting-edge display, and advanced imaging capabilities, the OnePlus 15 positions itself as a strong contender in the premium smartphone segment. It not only outperforms competitors like the iQOO 15, which costs slightly more at 4,199 Yuan (around ₹52,000), but also signals OnePlus’ return to bold innovation in both hardware and software refinement.
