Imran Khan's sister warns that Pakistan under Munir is worse than Hitler's government

Noreen Niazi, the sister of imprisoned former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, sharply criticized the country’s leadership while speaking to India Today TV, alleging that Khan has been denied basic human rights and that the family has had no information about him for more than three weeks. She claimed that Pakistan under Army Chief General Asim Munir has become “worse than Hitler’s regime,” describing the present moment as “the darkest era in Pakistan’s history.”

Noreen issued a stark warning to General Munir, saying that if anything happens to Imran Khan in custody, “the descendants of Asim Munir will never be safe in the country.” She emphasized that Khan’s supporters remain devoted to him and declared that “one word from Imran, and his workers will break jail gates and rescue him.”

She alleged that police brutality has intensified, stating that even women and children are being fired upon during protests, while the judicial system in Pakistan has been weakened. According to her, authorities have withheld all updates regarding Imran Khan’s well-being inside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. She said the family has been denied visitation for weeks despite repeated attempts and that a scheduled meeting between PTI leaders and Khan was abruptly denied by jail staff.

Speaking to ANI, Noreen said the family has “no proof of life,” and that rumours about Khan’s death circulated on social media before jail authorities attempted to dismiss them. She added that the blackout around communication has led to widespread fear among Khan’s supporters and family members. “We don’t know anything. They are not telling us anything, nor are they letting anybody meet him,” she said.

Concerns have also been raised by Khan’s younger son, Kasim Khan, who has warned that authorities will be held responsible for the former prime minister’s safety if anything happens to him during detention.

Noreen accused the Pakistani establishment of giving the police a “free hand” to act without restraint against PTI workers and supporters. She expressed deep concern not only for her brother but also for others detained. She said public frustration is building and predicted that continued suppression “will lead to a spark among people soon.”

On Thursday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, along with PTI lawmakers and supporters, visited Adiala Jail seeking information about Imran Khan’s health. This followed statements from Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, who also said she had been denied permission to meet him. Jail officials have dismissed rumours of Khan’s death, asserting that he remains in good health, though demands for direct access and confirmation persist from both family members and supporters.
