A dramatic scene unfolded inside the Morena Municipal Corporation office when a local resident publicly exposed a bribery racket by calling the officials involved right in front of the Mayor. The youth, identified as Pankaj Rathore, had approached the corporation to get his plot transferred and to secure construction approval. Instead of being guided through the official process, he was allegedly asked to pay fixed “rates” of bribes to various officials in addition to the legal fees.
Rathore had initially contacted a municipal clerk, who openly discussed the bribe amounts expected by different officers. Even after this illegal demand, his file kept getting delayed, prompting him to escalate the issue directly to Morena Mayor Sharda Solanki.
During the meeting in the Mayor’s office, Rathore called the concerned officials on speakerphone and asked them to repeat the bribe details. On the call, the staff reportedly admitted which officer wanted how much money. Their confession in front of the Mayor created chaos and shock within the Municipal Corporation office, exposing the depth of corruption in routine civic work.
Mayor Solanki immediately informed Municipal Commissioner Satyendra Dhakre. Responding to the incident, Commissioner Dhakre said the complaint had not yet been formally submitted to her but assured that an inquiry would be ordered and strict action taken if the allegations were verified.
