At a Russian school, a teen wearing a "no lives matter" t-shirt fatally stabs a 10-year-old

A shocking act of violence at a school in the Moscow region has left a young child and a security guard dead, after a teenage student carried out a knife attack inside the campus. Authorities moved quickly to contain the situation, arresting the 15-year-old suspect and launching a full-scale investigation, even as the incident reignited concerns over student safety and the possible influence of extremist ideologies in Russia.

The attack occurred on Tuesday at a secondary school near Moscow. According to initial reports, the teenager entered the school premises wearing a mask and helmet and was armed with a knife and pepper spray. Witnesses said the sudden assault caused chaos inside the school, with students and staff scrambling to escape as fear spread through classrooms and hallways.

During the incident, a 32-year-old security guard, identified in media reports as Dmitry Pavlov, attempted to intervene when the attacker threatened students. While trying to stop the assailant, the guard was allegedly sprayed with pepper spray and then stabbed. Despite emergency efforts, he later died from his injuries.

As the violence unfolded, students were seen fleeing the building, some running outside into freezing winter conditions to escape the danger. Law enforcement officials said the attacker then chased a 10-year-old student inside the school, fatally stabbing the child before police arrived.

Special armed police units were rapidly deployed to the scene after reports that the attacker had barricaded himself inside part of the school. Security forces stormed the premises and managed to detain the teenager without further loss of life.

Images and videos circulating on social media showed the suspect being escorted away by police. Some online posts claimed the teenager was wearing clothing bearing extremist slogans, though Russian authorities have not officially confirmed these details. In keeping with national law, the suspect’s identity has not been made public due to his age.

Investigators are now examining the background of the accused, including his personal history, online activity, and any possible ideological influences. Officials are also reviewing witness statements that suggest the attacker may have questioned students about their identities before launching the assault, a detail that has added to concerns about potential extremist motivations.

The incident has once again brought school security into sharp focus in Russia, where authorities have been under pressure to strengthen protective measures at educational institutions following previous acts of violence. Law enforcement agencies have said a comprehensive investigation is underway to reconstruct the sequence of events, determine motive, and assess whether the attack was linked to extremist beliefs or other radical influences.
