A clash between two groups in Kalana village of Ahmedabad district led to stone-pelting early Tuesday, forcing police to intervene and detain several people. The incident stemmed from a minor disagreement that began the previous night and later escalated into violence, creating tension in the area.
According to officials, the dispute started when a person riding a motorcycle was stopped and questioned by someone from another group. Although the issue appeared to have been resolved initially, tensions resurfaced the next morning, leading to confrontation between the two sides.
As the situation worsened, police teams, including the Ahmedabad Rural Superintendent of Police, rushed to the village. A combing operation was carried out to restore order and prevent further violence. Authorities confirmed that an FIR had been registered against members of both groups involved in the clash.
A total of 42 people have been detained so far in connection with the incident. Ahmedabad Rural SP Omprakash Jat said that police acted swiftly after receiving information about the disturbance and ensured that adequate force was deployed to control the situation. He added that the matter is currently under control and the village remains peaceful.
No serious injuries were reported in the stone-pelting incident. Police have maintained a strong presence in the area to prevent any further flare-ups and are continuing their investigation into the cause of the dispute. Residents have been urged to cooperate with authorities and avoid actions that could disrupt peace in the village.
