After leaning out of the bus window, an Andhra college student is struck by an iron rod and dies

A tragic accident claimed the life of a college student in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday after he sustained a fatal head injury while travelling by bus in the Konaseema region, according to police officials. The incident has drawn attention to passenger safety and the risks associated with leaning out of moving vehicles.

The student was travelling on an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation bus that was en route from Lakshmidevi Lanka village to Amalapuram when the accident occurred. During the journey, he reportedly leaned out of the bus window, at which point his head struck an iron rod positioned along the roadside.

Police said the impact caused a severe head injury, proving instantly fatal. The student died at the spot, leaving fellow passengers and locals shocked by the suddenness of the incident. Initial inquiries suggest that the act of leaning out to spit led directly to the collision with the iron structure.

Further details revealed that the deceased was a first-year student enrolled at a private college in Amalapuram and was commuting from his native Lakshmidevi Lanka village at the time. Authorities have since informed his family and initiated standard procedures following the accident.

The police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and stated that a detailed investigation is underway to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to determine whether any additional safety lapses or contributory factors were involved.
