Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting in Chandigarh with a Canadian delegation led by David Eby, underscoring Punjab’s increasing visibility and attractiveness on the global investment landscape. The interaction reflected the state government’s efforts to expand international engagement and build stronger ties with foreign regions that share complementary economic interests.
During the discussions, both sides engaged in in-depth deliberations on enhancing cooperation across several priority sectors, including agriculture, education, technology, and other areas of shared interest. The dialogue focused on identifying opportunities for collaborative projects, knowledge exchange, and the establishment of long-term partnerships between Punjab and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Emphasis was placed on leveraging each region’s strengths to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
Chief Minister Mann used the occasion to brief the delegation on Punjab’s investor-friendly policies and reform-oriented governance approach. He assured the visiting representatives of full support from the state government in facilitating investments, highlighting the administration’s commitment to creating a supportive and efficient ecosystem for international investors. This, he noted, includes policy incentives, improved infrastructure, and streamlined administrative processes to ensure ease of doing business.
As part of the engagement, the Canadian delegation was formally invited to participate in the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Mohali from March 13 to March 15, 2026. The summit is envisioned as a major platform to attract global investment, promote cross-border collaboration, and showcase Punjab’s economic potential across a wide range of sectors, reinforcing the state’s ambitions to emerge as a preferred destination for international investors.
