Hours after being detained, Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil was detained in a third rape case

Reports claiming that US forces deployed a highly advanced and previously unseen weapon during a raid in Venezuela have drawn widespread global attention, following a striking eyewitness account that described local troops being incapacitated by an overwhelming sound-based force during the operation to capture President Nicolas Maduro.

The account, shared on social media by the White House press secretary, described how Venezuelan security personnel were rendered helpless within minutes as US troops allegedly employed sophisticated technology. According to the narrative, radar systems abruptly stopped functioning, large numbers of drones filled the skies, and defenders were left disoriented and physically unable to respond.

The guard who recounted the incident said they were initially on alert when, without warning, all radar equipment shut down. Soon after, drones appeared in large numbers overhead, creating confusion and panic among Venezuelan forces who were unsure how to react to the sudden technological onslaught.

The account further claimed that only a small US unit entered the area, with fewer than ten helicopters deploying roughly 20 soldiers. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the US troops were described as quickly taking full control of the situation, relying on what the guard characterised as unfamiliar and highly advanced methods of warfare.

Describing the encounter as completely one-sided, the guard said Venezuelan forces had no real chance to resist. He claimed the Americans fired with extraordinary speed and accuracy, creating the impression that each soldier was unleashing an overwhelming volume of fire in a very short span of time.

The most alarming part of the account came when the guard described the alleged use of a mysterious device. He said it felt like an extremely intense sound wave that caused immediate and severe physical distress, making it feel as though his head was exploding from within.

According to the account, the effects were instant and widespread. Many soldiers reportedly began bleeding from their noses, some vomited blood, and others collapsed to the ground, unable to move or even stand after being exposed to what the guard described as a sonic weapon or something similar.

The White House has not clarified whether reposting the account amounts to confirmation of its accuracy, and officials have remained silent on whether such a weapon was actually used during the operation. Venezuelan authorities, however, have stated that around 100 members of their security forces were killed during the January 3 raid, though it remains unclear whether any deaths were directly linked to the alleged technology.

A former US intelligence source suggested that the description resembles directed energy weapons, which use focused forms of energy such as microwaves or other electromagnetic waves to disable targets. According to the source, versions of such systems have existed for years and can cause severe pain, bleeding, disorientation, and temporary incapacitation.

Similar claims have surfaced in the past, including allegations that China used a microwave weapon against Indian soldiers during a 2020 border standoff, though those claims were officially denied by Beijing at the time.

The Venezuelan guard claimed the raid has sent shockwaves across Latin America, especially in light of recent remarks by President Donald Trump suggesting that Mexico could be the next target of US action. He said the operation served as a stark warning to anyone who believes they can confront the United States militarily.

According to him, the scale and nature of what he witnessed changed his perception entirely. He said the incident was being widely discussed across the region and predicted that its impact would extend far beyond Venezuela, potentially reshaping military calculations throughout Latin America.
