India warns Israelis to exercise cautious in light of the escalating tensions with Iran

The Embassy of India in Israel on Thursday issued a fresh advisory asking Indian nationals residing in or visiting Israel to remain alert and exercise heightened caution in view of the prevailing security situation in the region.

In the advisory, the embassy urged Indian citizens to strictly adhere to all safety instructions, emergency protocols, and alerts issued by Israeli authorities, including the Home Front Command. Indians were also advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Israel until further notice, given the uncertain and evolving security environment.

The advisory was shared through the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Embassy of India in Israel. The mission reiterated its commitment to assisting Indian nationals and said it was closely monitoring developments on the ground.

For emergencies, the embassy advised Indian citizens to remain in touch through its 24x7 helpline numbers and official email channels, stressing that timely communication could be critical during sudden security escalations.

In a related development, the Government of India has prepared contingency plans to evacuate Indian nationals stranded in Iran amid rising safety concerns linked to ongoing unrest there. However, sources clarified that these evacuation plans are precautionary and are not being implemented immediately, based on the latest assessment of the situation.

Officials said that preparations are being kept ready to ensure a swift and organised response if conditions in Iran worsen or if the safety of Indian citizens is threatened.

Earlier, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued a separate advisory urging Indian students, pilgrims, business travellers, and tourists to leave Iran using available commercial flights or alternative transport options as a precautionary measure.

The embassy also asked Indian nationals in Iran to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passports and identification papers, readily accessible at all times, and to remain in contact with the mission for assistance or updates as the situation continues to evolve.
