Just days ahead of Republic Day, a wave of bomb threat emails triggered panic and precautionary measures at multiple schools across Noida and Ahmedabad. On Friday, Shiv Nadar School and Father Agnel School in Noida, along with several private schools in Ahmedabad, received threatening emails warning of explosives on their premises, prompting immediate action from school authorities and law enforcement agencies.
In Noida, security protocols were swiftly activated after the threat was reported. Teams comprising local police personnel, bomb disposal squads and dog squads were rushed to Shiv Nadar School and Father Agnel School to conduct thorough searches of the campuses. As a precautionary step, students were dismissed early to ensure their safety while investigations were underway.
Shiv Nadar School made arrangements for its buses to safely transport students back to their designated drop-off points. Parents were advised to remain in close contact with bus staff and school authorities while coordinating the pickup of their children. The school administration emphasised calm and cooperation during the process.
Appealing to parents, Shiv Nadar School Principal Anju Soni requested understanding and support, assuring them that all necessary safety measures were being followed and that student welfare remained the top priority.
The Noida Police confirmed that, in addition to physical inspections at the school premises, a cyber team had been deployed to trace the origin of the threatening emails and conduct a detailed technical analysis. Officials said the situation was under control and urged citizens not to spread or believe rumours.
Similar precautionary steps were taken in Ahmedabad, where several private schools also received bomb threat emails. School administrations promptly alerted the police, following which bomb squads, fire brigade teams and other emergency responders reached the locations to carry out inspections and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Authorities in both cities maintained that peace and order were intact, and investigations were ongoing to identify the source of the threats, which came at a sensitive time just three days before the Republic Day celebrations.
