A 26-year-old Andhra Indian MBA student perishes in a fire at his London residence


A 26-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, Ganti Abhishek, died in a house fire in London after reportedly being unable to escape the blaze that broke out at the residence where he was staying. According to local police and family members, the fire erupted suddenly, trapping those inside. While two individuals managed to escape the burning house, Abhishek could not get out and is believed to have died due to suffocation caused by smoke inhalation.

One of the survivors remains in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in London. Visuals from the site showed extensive damage to the property, with large sections of the house severely charred following the incident. Emergency services responded to the fire, but Abhishek could not be rescued in time.

Abhishek was a native of Peddapuram in Andhra Pradesh. He had moved to London in 2023 to pursue an MBA while also exploring professional opportunities in the city. His father, Ganti Askar Rao, serves as the Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Government Employees’ Association. The news of his death has left his family, friends, and relatives in deep shock and mourning.

Authorities in London have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Police officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident as part of ongoing inquiries, while the family awaits further updates from officials regarding the findings.
