What began as an ordinary lunch break ended in tragedy for a young bank employee in Karnataka after she was fatally struck by a speeding motorcycle, with CCTV footage later capturing the moments leading up to the devastating accident. The incident has drawn attention to concerns over reckless driving, as visuals from the scene revealed how quickly the situation unfolded.
The accident took place at approximately 12:45 pm on Tuesday outside an HDFC Home Loan office in the state. The victim, 26-year-old Yogeshwari, was employed with HDFC Bank and had stepped out of her workplace during her lunch interval when the motorcycle reportedly crashed into her.
CCTV recordings from the area show the motorcycle approaching the stretch at considerable speed moments before the collision. In the footage, Yogeshwari is seen attempting to cross the road when she suddenly notices the oncoming vehicle. Realising the danger, she tries to run to safety in an effort to avoid the impact. However, within seconds, the speeding motorcycle strikes her, leaving little time for anyone nearby to react.
The force of the collision created panic in the area, prompting office employees and passersby to rush toward the injured woman to provide assistance. The accident temporarily disrupted traffic movement along the road as people gathered at the scene and emergency help was arranged.
Yogeshwari was immediately transported to a nearby private hospital, where doctors attempted to treat her critical injuries. Despite sustained medical efforts throughout the day, she succumbed to her injuries at around 11:30 pm the same night, turning what had begun as a routine workday into a fatal incident.
Following the accident, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the motorcycle rider. Investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including allegations of overspeeding and possible negligence, as part of an ongoing probe into the incident.
