Nick Jonas discusses karma, dharma, and instilling genuine Hindu principles in raising his daughter Maltie

Nick Jonas has revealed how his marriage to Priyanka Chopra has introduced Indian culture and Hinduism into his everyday life. In a recent interview, he spoke about how experiencing India’s traditions firsthand has deepened his understanding of faith, values, and family.

Jonas said his connection to India began with his first visit, where he was warmly welcomed by Chopra’s family and friends. Since then, Indian customs and celebrations have become an integral part of his life.

“It felt almost magical when I first went to India and got to spend time with her family and friends, truly immersing myself in her culture,” he shared. “Some of my favorite memories are either from India or linked to India, and it’s incredible.”

Jonas also expressed a deep appreciation for Hinduism, calling it both beautiful and profound. He highlighted the importance of karma and dharma in shaping their family values and parenting approach.

“I’ve learned a lot about Hinduism, which is amazing. The idea of karma — treating others as you’d like to be treated — and the belief that good actions bring positive outcomes resonates deeply with me. Dharma is beautiful, and we are raising our daughter with real Hindu values and a meaningful understanding of them. I feel blessed to have a multicultural and multi-religious family,” he said.

He added that his own views on faith have evolved over time. Growing up listening to his father preach, Jonas said spirituality remains central to his identity.

Jonas and Chopra tied the knot in December 2018, celebrating with both Hindu and Christian ceremonies. They welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, in 2022 and often celebrate Hindu festivals like Diwali and Holi as a family.

Recently, Jonas released his first solo album in five years, Sunday Best. The deluxe edition, released on February 10, 2026, includes two new tracks along with a live version of the lead single, Gut Punch.
