The world is thrilled by India's advances at the AI Summit, which is a turning point: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the India AI Impact Summit marked a significant milestone in shaping how artificial intelligence will be used globally, highlighting India’s growing leadership in the field and the strong response the country’s innovations received from international participants.

Speaking during his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Modi described the summit as a turning point in discussions on the future application of AI technologies. He noted that global leaders and technology industry representatives attending the event were impressed by India’s progress and practical innovations in artificial intelligence.

The prime minister specifically referred to two AI-based solutions that drew widespread attention at the summit. One demonstration, presented at the Amul pavilion, showcased how artificial intelligence can assist farmers by monitoring livestock health and behaviour while helping veterinarians detect illnesses early. The system illustrated how technology could enhance animal care and improve agricultural productivity through real-time tracking and data analysis.

The second innovation highlighted the use of AI to preserve India’s ancient knowledge systems. The technology focuses on digitising and interpreting historical texts and manuscripts, enabling traditional knowledge to be adapted for contemporary use while ensuring long-term preservation. Modi said such initiatives demonstrated how modern technology can bridge the past and present by making cultural and intellectual heritage accessible to future generations.

While praising technological advancements, the prime minister also cautioned citizens about rising cases of online financial fraud and so-called “digital arrest” scams. He urged people not to ignore bank communications requesting Know Your Customer (KYC) updates, explaining that periodic verification processes are essential safeguards designed to protect bank accounts and prevent misuse.

Modi emphasised that elderly citizens have increasingly become targets of cyber fraud and appealed to the public to remain vigilant, verify suspicious communications, and follow banking security procedures carefully. He said technological progress must be accompanied by awareness and responsible digital behaviour to ensure that innovation benefits society without exposing people to new risks.
