A frightening incident in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon turned into a moment of relief after a three-year-old boy, who accidentally got an aluminium utensil stuck on his head while playing, was safely rescued through a carefully coordinated effort by a doctor and a plumber. The unusual episode, captured on video, has since gained widespread attention on social media.
The incident occurred on the morning of February 10 when the child was playing at home and reportedly placed an aluminium vessel over his head, imagining it to be a crown. Within seconds, the utensil became firmly lodged around his head and neck, leaving him unable to remove it on his own. As the vessel tightened, the child began crying loudly, and his family grew increasingly alarmed as he appeared to struggle with breathing.
Panic-stricken, the boy’s parents rushed him to multiple hospitals seeking urgent medical assistance. However, several doctors were reportedly hesitant to attempt removal of the utensil due to the high risk of causing injury to the child’s head or neck during the process. The possibility of accidental cuts or burns made the situation particularly delicate.
The situation was finally addressed when Dr. Minaj Patel agreed to handle the case and attempt a safe removal. Recognising the technical difficulty involved, he sought assistance from hospital staff member Khalid Shaikh, a plumber, whose practical expertise proved crucial for the operation.
To minimise any risk to the child, precautionary measures were carefully put in place before cutting the utensil. A wooden PUC sheet and a wet cloth were positioned between the grinder and the child’s skin to provide protection from heat, sparks, and accidental contact. Using a grinder cutter, the team slowly and cautiously began slicing through the aluminium vessel while ensuring the child remained safe and calm throughout the procedure.
After approximately 12 minutes of precise work, the utensil was successfully cut open and removed without causing any injuries. The tense situation ended in relief for both the child and his parents, who had endured hours of anxiety while seeking help.
A video documenting the rescue has since gone viral online, with many viewers praising the quick thinking and coordinated effort that ensured the child’s safety and prevented what could have turned into a serious medical emergency.
