Aakhri Sawal: Sanjay Dutt to produce and star in a movie depicting RSS's 100-year history

Sanjay Dutt is set to appear in the upcoming film Aakhri Sawal, which is based on the 100-year history of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The first look of the film, released on March 26, features Dutt in a serious and intense avatar.

The makers shared the poster on social media with a caption hinting at revealing answers to long-standing questions, while also announcing the film’s release on May 15.

The film aims to depict the century-long journey of the RSS, which was established in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

Earlier, director Aashish Mall explored a similar theme in his 2026 period drama Shatak, which portrayed the early days of the organisation and its growth from a volunteer group to a nationwide presence.

Aakhri Sawal is directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, who made his debut with the Marathi film Picasso (2021), earning a Special Mention at the 67th National Film Awards. His other works include Deja Vu, Prem Pratha Dhumshan, Piccolo, and the short film Virtual Reality.

In addition to Sanjay Dutt, the film features Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhury, and Neetu Chandra in key roles.

Dutt was last seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, alongside Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal.

The film is produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, with co-producers Puneet Nanda, Dr Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by Utkarsh Naithani.
