After fighting over a possible infidelity, a Gujarati man kills his wife

A man in Gujarat’s Vadodara allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute sparked by suspicions of an extramarital relationship. The accused, identified as Bunty Solanki, was arrested by the police within a few hours of the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

According to police officials, Solanki stabbed his wife, Rita, to death after a heated argument at their home in the Bakrawadi area of Vadodara. Rita, who was the mother of two children — a 13-year-old son and another son aged around two-and-a-half years — died at the spot as a result of the injuries inflicted during the attack.

After committing the crime, Solanki fled from the residence in an attempt to escape. However, police teams acted quickly and managed to locate and arrest him within hours of the incident. Authorities have since taken him into custody and initiated further investigation into the case.

Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that the couple had been experiencing ongoing marital tensions for some time. Police said Solanki suspected his wife of being involved in an extramarital affair, which had led to frequent disputes between them. Investigators also revealed that the accused had installed CCTV cameras inside the house in an attempt to monitor his wife’s movements due to his suspicions.

Officials stated that they are continuing their investigation to determine whether any additional factors or motives may have contributed to the murder.

In a separate incident reported from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district, another man allegedly killed his estranged wife in broad daylight at a bus stand on Sunday. The accused, identified as Sudhakar from Palamadai, reportedly chased his wife before attacking her with a sharp weapon. After carrying out the assault, he walked into a nearby police station and surrendered to authorities.

Sudhakar had been married to the victim, Pechiyammal, and the couple had two children together. According to preliminary information gathered by investigators, the couple had been living separately for some time due to differences in their relationship.

Police suspect that the attack may have been driven by Sudhakar’s belief that his wife was involved in an illicit relationship. Investigators are continuing to question the accused and collect evidence to establish the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident.
