Four members of an Andhra Pradesh family are killed by a mechanic's suggestion. This is what took place

A tragic incident in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district claimed the lives of a family of four on Sunday after what initially appeared to be a routine repair of their two-wheeler vehicle turned into a fatal accident. The family, who lived on Thyagaraju Street in Punganur town, had recently had the engine of their motorcycle repaired and followed a suggestion given by a local mechanic regarding how to “set” the newly installed engine parts.

According to reports, the mechanic had advised the family to keep the two-wheeler engine running overnight so that the repaired components could properly settle and function smoothly. Trusting this advice, the family decided to leave the engine running for several hours. Unfortunately, the decision led to a deadly situation inside their home.

The family had parked the motorcycle inside their house while the engine was running and had also kept the doors and windows closed. Since the house had poor ventilation, the exhaust fumes produced by the engine had no way to escape. As the engine continued to run, carbon monoxide began to accumulate inside the room where the family was sleeping.

Carbon monoxide is a highly dangerous gas that is both colourless and odourless, making it extremely difficult to detect without specialised equipment. As the concentration of the gas increased inside the enclosed space, the couple and their two children were gradually exposed to it while they slept. The toxic fumes eventually caused them to suffocate, leading to their deaths.

Concerned neighbours later alerted local police authorities after noticing something unusual. When the police arrived at the scene and received no response from inside the house, they forced open the door. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the bodies of all four family members inside.

Following the discovery, police registered a case and began an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are looking into how the advice was given and the sequence of events that led to the tragedy.

The incident has also highlighted the dangers associated with running engines or generators in enclosed spaces. Machines that burn fuel produce carbon monoxide, and if they are operated indoors or in poorly ventilated areas, the gas can quickly accumulate and pose a serious risk to human life. The tragedy in Chittoor serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring proper ventilation and avoiding the operation of engines inside closed environments.
