In a lavish Mumbai wedding, Arjun Tendulkar weds Saaniya Chandhok

Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, married Saaniya Chandhok in a grand ceremony held in Mumbai on March 5. The wedding turned into a star-studded gathering, bringing together several prominent names from the worlds of cricket, business, and entertainment.

The ceremony was held at a private venue in south Mumbai, where family members, close friends, and well-known personalities attended to celebrate the couple’s special day. The wedding followed weeks of celebrations, beginning with the couple’s engagement announcement on August 25 last year and continuing with multiple pre-wedding events in the months leading up to the ceremony.

Former India captain MS Dhoni arrived with his wife Sakshi Dhoni, drawing attention as he joined the Tendulkar family for the occasion. India head coach Gautam Gambhir was also present with his wife Natasha Jain, attending the ceremony before India’s T20 World Cup semi-final against England later that evening.

Several prominent figures from Indian cricket were part of the celebrations. Legendary opener Sunil Gavaskar attended with his wife Marshneil Gavaskar, while former India head coach Rahul Dravid, former captain Anil Kumble, and former coach Ravi Shastri were among the distinguished guests.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker attended with his wife Sunita Gowariker, while Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar was also present. Business leaders Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani were closely involved in the celebrations and were expected to attend the Mumbai ceremony as well.

Saaniya Chandhok comes from the well-known Ghai family, which has a long-standing presence in Mumbai’s hospitality and food industry. The family’s business legacy traces back to Iqbal Krishan “IK” Ghai, who founded the Kwality Ice Cream brand and the InterContinental hotel on Marine Drive. The business legacy continues through Graviss Hospitality Ltd, led by Ravi Iqbal Ghai, which operates Baskin-Robbins in India. The family has also supported newer ventures such as The Brooklyn Creamery, a health-focused ice cream brand launched by Shivaan Ghai.

Saaniya, a graduate of the London School of Economics, is involved in business as well. She works as a veterinary technician and runs a luxury pet spa in Mumbai called Mr Paws.

Earlier celebrations included the couple’s mehendi ceremony at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse, while another pre-wedding event was hosted in Jamnagar by the Ambani family.
