Iran promises to combat "global arrogance" and rejects any involvement in the operations in Turkey and Oman

Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei has denied any involvement by Iran or its allied groups in the recent attacks reported in Turkey and Oman, describing them as “false flag” operations intended to damage Iran’s relations with neighbouring countries.

In a statement issued ahead of the Iranian year 1405, Khamenei claimed that such incidents were part of a broader strategy by what he termed the “Zionist enemy” to create mistrust and instability in the region. He warned that similar attempts could be carried out in other countries as well, with the aim of isolating Iran diplomatically.

Alongside these remarks, Khamenei extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims globally and praised what he called the “successes” of Iran’s armed forces in the ongoing conflict, which he referred to as the “third imposed war.” He asserted that efforts by adversaries to weaken public morale had failed, citing national unity as a key factor in resisting external pressure.

Reviewing recent events, he said Iran had faced multiple major confrontations over the past year, including a conflict with Israel backed by the United States, an alleged coup attempt, and the current war. According to him, these developments did not trigger instability within the country as expected by its adversaries but instead strengthened internal cohesion.

Khamenei emphasised the role of public participation, including demonstrations and national observances, in reinforcing unity across political, cultural, and religious lines. He argued that this collective response had undermined the objectives of Iran’s opponents.

On economic policy, he announced that the coming year would focus on a “resistance economy,” highlighting the need to address structural weaknesses, improve living standards, and strengthen welfare systems. He framed these efforts as part of a broader economic struggle linked to external pressures.

He also cautioned domestic media against overemphasising internal challenges, suggesting that such narratives could be exploited by external actors as part of psychological operations.

In terms of foreign relations, Khamenei underscored the importance of strengthening ties with neighbouring countries, particularly Pakistan and Afghanistan, and called for closer cooperation among Muslim nations based on shared interests.

Overall, the statement combined political, military, and economic messaging, presenting national unity, resilience, and regional engagement as central themes for Iran’s approach in the coming year.
