On April 25, K Kavitha will introduce the new party Sarvodaya Telangana

K. Kavitha has announced the launch of a new political party, “Sarvodaya Telangana,” positioning it as the beginning of a new phase in the state’s politics. The party is scheduled to be formally launched on April 25, 2026, at Medchal, where its name and flag will be officially unveiled.

She described the party’s vision as rooted in the idea of “Sarvodaya,” meaning universal welfare and inclusive development, with a strong focus on addressing Telangana-specific issues. According to her, even more than a decade after statehood, key promises related to water, financial resources, and employment remain unfulfilled, leaving several sections of society dissatisfied.

Kavitha stated that the new political platform aims to prioritise the concerns of youth, women, farmers, and marginalised communities. She argued that many groups, including backward classes and minorities, continue to face challenges and are often treated merely as vote banks, while women remain underrepresented in leadership and decision-making roles.

Positioning the party as a regional force, she emphasised that the majority of its focus will remain on Telangana’s internal issues, though it will also maintain a national committee to address broader matters. She also called for greater participation of young people in politics, stressing that active involvement is necessary to bring meaningful change.

Highlighting her background with Telangana Jagruthi, she pointed to its past work in supporting farmers’ families and providing assistance during the pandemic, presenting it as a foundation for the new party’s outreach and welfare approach.

Kavitha also made it clear that the party would operate independently and not align as a secondary force to any existing political formation. She criticised established parties for failing to adequately address people’s concerns and asserted that her party aims to emerge as a strong regional alternative, led with a focus on inclusivity and grassroots issues.
