Priyanka Chopra wishes her father had gotten to know her daughter Malti and husband Nick Jonas

Actor Priyanka Chopra has spoken about how much she misses her late father, Ashok Chopra, and how she wishes he could have met her husband, Nick Jonas, and their daughter Malti. She said she believes her father would have chosen Nick as her life partner had he been given the chance.

Ashok Chopra passed away in 2013 after battling cancer. In a conversation with Mythical Kitchen, Priyanka shared that Nick embodies many of the qualities her father would have wanted in her husband. She noted that her father’s first love was music and described Nick as a prodigy, praising his talent as a singer, songwriter and creator in the studio.

She said that whenever she feels the need for inspiration, she watches Nick work in the studio, describing his creative process as intense and beautiful. According to her, this passion for music and creativity is something her father would have deeply appreciated.

Calling Nick a “very wise soul,” Priyanka said her father would have wanted someone like him in her life. She described their relationship as a balance, saying they complement each other like yin and yang. She added that one of her biggest wishes is that her father could have met both her husband and her daughter.

Priyanka has often spoken about the profound influence her father had on her life and career. She keeps his memory alive through cherished memories and a wrist tattoo dedicated to him.

In a 2018 interview with Zoom, she recalled missing her father deeply during her wedding, especially since he had looked forward to the occasion and would often ask when he should get his suit stitched.

Priyanka and Nick married in a grand ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in 2018, celebrating both Christian and Hindu traditions over three days. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, via surrogacy in 2022.
