Unfair and biased: Iran rejects the truce proposal, claiming it serves the interests of the US and Israel

Iran has rejected the latest proposal from United States to end the ongoing conflict, calling it “one-sided and unfair.” Iranian officials said the plan, conveyed through Pakistan, failed to meet even the basic conditions required for progress and primarily served US and Israeli interests.

According to Tehran, the proposal would require Iran to give up its defensive capabilities in exchange for unclear promises of sanctions relief, making it unacceptable. Officials also emphasised that no formal negotiations are currently taking place and that there is no concrete plan for talks at this stage.

Despite rejecting the offer, Iran indicated that diplomacy remains possible. Efforts to mediate are ongoing, with Turkey and Pakistan attempting to bridge differences between the two sides. Iran stated that a resolution could still be found if Washington adopts a more balanced approach.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump claimed that Iran is actively seeking a deal, saying Tehran is “begging” for negotiations. However, he also expressed uncertainty about whether the US is willing to move forward with an agreement, suggesting that any potential deal would need to address key concerns such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Overall, the situation remains unclear, with both sides maintaining pressure while leaving limited room for possible diplomatic engagement.
