When caught with a lover, the woman murders her mother-in-law while pretending to have a heart attack

A woman in Mathura was allegedly murdered by her daughter-in-law and the latter’s lover after the victim discovered them together at home. The incident initially appeared to be a natural death, but later investigations revealed that the woman had been smothered to death.

According to police, the victim’s death was first believed to have been caused by a heart attack. However, suspicion arose when her husband began questioning the circumstances surrounding the sudden death and alerted authorities. Acting on the orders of the district administration, the body was exhumed for a detailed post-mortem examination.

The post-mortem report confirmed that the woman had suffered a broken neck, indicating that the death was not natural. Following the findings, police registered a murder case and arrested the daughter-in-law along with her alleged lover, identified as Adil.

The crime took place in Bhankarpur Basela village in Mathura district. Investigators said Adil had arrived at the house around 1 am on March 3. During the night, the elderly woman reportedly discovered her daughter-in-law in an objectionable position with him.

Police said the two then allegedly conspired to kill the woman to prevent the matter from coming to light. The victim was smothered with a pillow, resulting in her death.

Around 3 am, the daughter-in-law reportedly called her husband and informed him that his mother had suffered a heart attack. Believing the claim, family members carried out the burial without suspecting foul play.

The case began to unravel several days later when the deceased woman’s husband developed doubts about the circumstances of the death and approached the police. Authorities then initiated an investigation that led to the exhumation of the body and the subsequent arrests.

Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and determine all details surrounding the alleged murder.
