Wife and lover murder a man while pretending to have a heart attack. Remarriage reveals a murderous scheme

A death that was initially reported as a heart attack in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district has now been revealed as a suspected murder, with police arresting the victim’s wife and her alleged lover more than a month after the incident. Authorities said the case took a dramatic turn after new suspicions emerged within the family.

The victim, identified as Paramesh, was found dead on January 30. His wife, Asha, informed relatives that he had suffered a heart attack, and the funeral was conducted soon afterward without immediate objections or a formal complaint. The circumstances appeared routine at the time, and no criminal case was registered initially.

Suspicion arose when Asha married her acquaintance Chandrappa just 20 days after her husband’s death. The swift remarriage raised concerns among Paramesh’s sisters, who approached the Hebbur police and alleged that the death may not have been natural. Acting on the complaint, police initiated a formal inquiry.

Investigators ordered the exhumation of Paramesh’s body in the presence of the local Tahsildar and revenue officials. A post-mortem examination was conducted, and forensic samples were collected to determine the exact cause of death. The renewed medical examination formed a key part of the probe.

During interrogation, police questioned Asha and Chandrappa about inconsistencies in their statements and the events leading up to the death. According to investigators, both later confessed to their involvement in the crime.

Police said the accused allegedly suffocated Paramesh using a pillow and then attempted to portray the death as a natural cardiac event to avoid suspicion. Asha and Chandrappa have since been arrested by Hebbur police, and further investigation is in progress to complete forensic analysis and establish the full sequence of events.
