A woman on bail is caught after stealing a pair of shirts from a jewelry store

A 30-year-old woman identified as Kajal has been arrested in Faridabad for allegedly stealing a pair of gold tops from a jewellery shop, with police confirming that she is a habitual offender who had recently been released on bail. The incident has once again raised concerns about repeat offences committed shortly after release from custody.

According to officials, Kajal, a resident of Indira Colony in Sector 8, had been released from Neemka Jail in Faridabad around three months ago. Despite her prior criminal record, she allegedly returned to similar activities, leading to her latest arrest.

The case was registered following a complaint by Rajesh Kumar, a jewellery shop owner from Bhagat Singh Colony. He stated that on February 27, a woman entered his shop posing as a customer interested in purchasing gold jewellery. She asked to see multiple items and engaged him in conversation to divert his attention.

During this interaction, when the shopkeeper briefly turned away to bring additional jewellery for display, the woman allegedly took advantage of the moment and stole a pair of tops from the set that was already placed in front of her. The theft went unnoticed at the time but was later discovered, prompting the complaint.

Based on the information provided, the police registered a case at Ballabgarh City Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During the investigation, officers identified and arrested Kajal on Tuesday.

She was produced before a local court on Wednesday, which granted one-day police custody for further interrogation. Authorities are now questioning her to determine whether she has been involved in other similar thefts in the area.

Police officials have indicated that her past record and recent reoffending pattern are being examined closely as part of the ongoing investigation.
