Following a possible technical issue, Air India's flight headed for Bengaluru returns to Mumbai

An Air India flight operating from Mumbai to Bengaluru returned to its point of origin shortly after take-off on April 9 after a suspected technical issue was detected mid-air. The airline stated that the decision to turn back was taken purely as a precautionary measure, in line with established safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

Flight AI2812 landed safely in Mumbai, and no injuries or incidents were reported during the return. Following the landing, the aircraft was taken for detailed technical inspections to identify and address the suspected issue, ensuring that all safety standards are fully met before it is cleared for further operations.

Air India emphasised that passenger safety remains its highest priority and that such precautionary actions are part of routine safety measures when any technical irregularity is observed during a flight. The airline also moved quickly to minimise disruption for passengers, arranging an alternative aircraft to continue the journey to Bengaluru.

Airport staff in Mumbai provided immediate assistance to affected passengers, ensuring that travel plans could resume with minimal delay. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused while reaffirming its commitment to maintaining strict safety standards in all operations.
