TVK chief warns that the film attacking Vijay won't even last a day

Aadhav Arjuna alleged that an upcoming film is part of a political attempt to target and insult Vijay, claiming that both the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are behind the project.

Addressing reporters, Arjuna said that using cinema to undermine a political leader reflects a deliberate strategy and questioned the legitimacy of filmmakers producing content aimed at a specific individual. He argued that such attempts to portray Vijay negatively were politically motivated.

Referring to the film Jananayagan, he raised concerns about how a politically driven movie could be allowed to be released, especially when Vijay’s own films are allegedly facing obstacles. Although he acknowledged not having direct knowledge of the film’s content, he claimed to have received information suggesting involvement of both the DMK and the BJP.

Arjuna also pointed to Vijay’s popularity, stating that teasers of his films often receive 10 to 15 crore views, which, according to him, reflects strong public support. He asserted that any film made against Vijay would fail quickly in theatres.

Separately, Vijay has come under scrutiny over discrepancies in his election affidavits. Documents indicate that while his affidavit filed from Perambur stated there were no pending criminal cases, another affidavit from Tiruchirappalli (East) listed two pending cases.

The inconsistency has raised concerns regarding disclosure accuracy ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Legal experts have noted that such discrepancies can typically be addressed by submitting a revised affidavit to clarify the record.
