Actor Celina Jaitly has filed a complaint against her husband, Austrian national Peter Haag, following which the Mumbai Police registered an FIR under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The case relates to allegations of cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation and sustained harassment. Authorities have also reportedly issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Haag after he allegedly failed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
According to Jaitly’s complaint, criminal proceedings have now been initiated against Haag in addition to an already pending case under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The FIR has reportedly been registered under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are continuing the investigation while examining the allegations made in the complaint and Haag’s alleged lack of cooperation during the inquiry process.
The legal dispute between the couple had escalated earlier in November 2025, when Jaitly approached the court under the Domestic Violence Act, alleging that she had been subjected to continuous domestic abuse by Haag. In her plea, the actor reportedly sought monthly maintenance of Rs 10 lakh along with compensation amounting to Rs 50 crore. The case further intensified after she alleged that Haag had blocked her access to their children, who are currently staying with him in Austria.
According to reports, Jaitly also requested a custody-related direction from the court, seeking uninterrupted virtual and telephonic access to her children. The actor has alleged that she was being denied regular communication and contact with them while they remained under Haag’s custody abroad. The matter is currently under legal consideration, while the criminal proceedings initiated by Mumbai Police are continuing separately.
