The 'Om' tattoo solves the case after a wife and lover kill a man and torch his body to eliminate any evidence

Police in Morbi district have solved the mystery surrounding a partially burnt body discovered in a deserted area, uncovering what investigators describe as a carefully planned murder conspiracy allegedly involving the victim’s wife, her lover, and the woman’s mother. The shocking case came to light after authorities recovered a charred body with tied hands, immediately triggering suspicion that the death was not accidental but part of a deliberate attempt to conceal a crime.

The half-burnt body of the victim was found on April 28 in the Wankaner area of Morbi district. According to police officials, the body had been badly damaged by fire, and the victim’s hands were tied, strongly indicating that the man may have been murdered before his body was set ablaze. Investigators sent the remains for forensic examination, and a post-mortem report later confirmed that the victim had been killed nearly four days before the body was discovered. Forensic experts also concluded that the body was intentionally burned in an effort to destroy evidence and make identification difficult.

According to Sameer Sarda, the condition of the body initially made it extremely difficult for investigators to identify the deceased. However, during examination, police noticed an ‘Om’ symbol tattoo on the victim’s hand, which eventually became one of the most important clues in the investigation. Officials then began analysing CCTV footage from surrounding areas and examined mobile call detail records to trace the victim’s identity and movements before the murder.

Using technical evidence and surveillance analysis, police identified the deceased as Chhagan Ninama, a native of Madhya Pradesh who had reportedly been living separately from his wife for some time. During questioning and background verification, investigators learned that Chhagan and his wife, Suman, allegedly had a troubled relationship and frequently argued with each other. Police said Suman had left her husband nearly three years ago and had since been living with her alleged lover, identified as Pawan Kumar Ninama, along with her two children.

As the investigation progressed, officers reportedly discovered that Suman had recently returned to her hometown after the closure of a factory where she had been working, which was affected by a gas-related crisis. According to investigators, it was during this period that Suman allegedly conspired with her lover Pawan Kumar Ninama and her mother to eliminate Chhagan permanently.

Police stated that Suman and her mother allegedly brought Chhagan from Madhya Pradesh to Morbi under some pretext. During the journey, Pawan Kumar Ninama allegedly strangled Chhagan from behind using a rope. Investigators believe the murder was pre-planned and carried out in a calculated manner to avoid suspicion and ensure the victim could not escape or seek help.

After allegedly killing Chhagan, the accused reportedly transported the body to a deserted location in Wankaner and set it on fire the very same day. Police suspect the intention behind burning the body was to destroy physical evidence and prevent authorities from identifying the victim quickly, thereby delaying the investigation and helping the accused escape detection.

However, the investigation eventually uncovered the alleged conspiracy through forensic evidence, CCTV analysis, and mobile phone records. Police have now arrested all three accused — Suman, her alleged lover Pawan Kumar Ninama, and her mother — in connection with the murder. Authorities said further legal proceedings and detailed investigation into the case are currently underway.
