A man in Rajasthan was abducted and killed by beatings due to personal animosity

A shocking case of alleged kidnapping and murder in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district has led to the arrest of six individuals, while police continue searching for others believed to have been involved in the crime. Authorities suspect that the killing was the result of a personal rivalry between the victim, 22-year-old Mahavir Singh, and the main accused, Hamir Singh. Investigators believe that nearly 15 people may have participated in the attack.

According to the police, the incident took place when Mahavir Singh was travelling on a motorcycle along with his friend, Bhopal Singh. While the two were riding, they were allegedly intercepted by Hamir Singh and several associates who had arrived in three separate cars. What began as a confrontation quickly escalated into a violent assault that ultimately claimed Mahavir's life.

Investigators said one of the vehicles intentionally rammed the motorcycle, causing both Mahavir and Bhopal to fall onto the road. Before they could recover from the impact or escape, the attackers allegedly surrounded them and began assaulting them with sticks and iron rods. The assault was reportedly led by Hamir Singh and involved several others who were present at the scene.

Following the attack, both victims were allegedly forced into the waiting vehicles and taken away against their will. Bhopal Singh, who survived the incident, later provided a detailed account of what had happened. According to him, he and Mahavir had noticed two or three vehicles approaching from the opposite direction while they were travelling. Although it was broad daylight, the occupants of the vehicles were repeatedly flashing their headlights, which made the two friends suspicious.

Bhopal said that in response to the unusual behaviour, they slowed down and moved their motorcycle to the side of the road. However, instead of passing by, the vehicles allegedly struck the motorcycle. Moments later, a group of men emerged and began attacking them.

According to Bhopal's statement, the attackers immediately forced him into one of the vehicles, while Mahavir was surrounded by several assailants who allegedly beat him repeatedly and brutally. He claimed that the attackers continued assaulting Mahavir until he was nearly unconscious.

Bhopal further alleged that after being held for some time, he was abandoned approximately 10 kilometres away from the location of the attack. Meanwhile, the accused allegedly drove off with Mahavir in one of the vehicles.

Recalling the ordeal, Bhopal said the attackers threatened him with dire consequences if he disclosed the incident to anyone. He stated that they warned him that he would be killed if he informed the authorities or spoke publicly about what had happened. He also revealed that he sustained injuries during the assault.

According to Bhopal, there were around 15 individuals involved in the attack. Among them, he said he was able to identify Hamir Singh, a resident of Myjlar, and Papu Singh, who is known locally for operating a vegetable cart. He claimed that he could not identify the remaining individuals, describing them as unknown miscreants.

Police later located Mahavir Singh near a village in a critically injured condition. Emergency medical assistance was arranged, and he was transported to a government hospital for treatment. However, despite efforts by doctors, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead shortly after arrival.

The seriousness of the crime prompted an immediate response from law enforcement authorities. Abhishek Shivhare confirmed that a case had been registered and that multiple police teams had been formed to investigate the incident and apprehend those responsible. Sources within the police department indicated that officers launched an intensive operation soon after details of the crime emerged.

As investigations continue, the victim's family has expressed shock and grief over the killing. Mahavir's father, Gordhan Singh, stated that his son had previously been involved in two or three verbal disputes with Hamir Singh. However, he said the family never anticipated that the disagreements would escalate into such an extreme and violent act.

The victim's relatives have also voiced dissatisfaction with the handling of the case. Following Mahavir's death, family members staged a sit-in protest outside the mortuary, demanding the arrest of all individuals involved in the crime. They have also called for disciplinary action against the officer in charge of the local police station, alleging lapses in the response to the incident.

As part of their protest, the family has refused to accept Mahavir's body until their demands are addressed. They insist that all accused persons be arrested and that accountability be fixed for any alleged negligence by local authorities.

In addition, family members have accused the police of failing to keep them adequately informed after the incident. According to their allegations, Mahavir's body was transferred directly from the hospital to the mortuary without proper communication or prior notification to the family, adding to their distress during an already traumatic time.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police continuing efforts to identify and arrest all those allegedly involved in the kidnapping and fatal assault. Authorities are expected to rely on witness statements, forensic evidence, and other investigative leads to establish the full sequence of events and determine the role played by each accused individual in the crime.
