A violent royal family quarrel results in a woman shooting her husband's second wife within the fort

A violent family dispute within the Nagod royal family in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district took a dramatic turn on Thursday when a woman allegedly shot her husband's second wife inside the historic Parsamaniya Fort.

According to police, Sunita Singh, the first wife of Rupendra Singh alias Baba Raja, allegedly opened fire on Yogita Singh, his second wife, during an argument inside the fort. Rupendra Singh, popularly known as Baba Raja, is the nephew of Nagendra Singh.

Investigators said the two women had been involved in a long-running family dispute. Yogita Singh had reportedly arrived at the fort two days before the incident along with her relatives in an effort to discuss and resolve the ongoing conflict.

The confrontation escalated on Thursday afternoon during discussions between the two sides. Police alleged that Sunita Singh used her licensed .22-bore rifle and fired multiple rounds during the altercation.

One of the bullets struck Yogita Singh in the abdomen, leaving her critically injured. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and was later shifted to a higher medical facility for advanced treatment.

Doctors subsequently performed surgery and successfully removed the bullet. Yogita remains under medical supervision in the intensive care unit, where her condition is being closely monitored.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances that led to the shooting, including the nature of the family dispute and the use of the licensed firearm. Further legal action will depend on the findings of the investigation and statements from those involved.
