An Indian guy, age 26, was fatally stabbed in London

A 26-year-old Indian-origin man, Gurbhej Singh, was stabbed to death in west London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police. Detectives are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.

The incident took place on North Road near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane in Southall. According to police, officers were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service during the early hours of Wednesday after reports of a stabbing.

Emergency responders rushed to the location and attempted to save Singh's life. However, despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that he had suffered a fatal knife wound.

A second man, believed to be in his 30s, was also injured during the incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell from the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command said investigators believe Singh was assaulted outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane at approximately 12:30 am. She described the death as tragic and extended condolences to Singh's family and loved ones.

Police have urged anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may possess CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage, to come forward and assist the investigation. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and reconstruct the events leading up to the attack.

Following the incident, seven men aged between their early twenties and late thirties were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. After further inquiries, six of the men were released without further action. The seventh suspect has been released on bail and remains under investigation as detectives continue their enquiries.

Specialist officers are providing support to Singh's family while investigators pursue all available leads. Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive for the attack, and inquiries remain ongoing.

The killing comes amid wider public debate in the United Kingdom about crime, immigration, and public safety. In recent days, separate incidents elsewhere in the UK have sparked protests and political discussions regarding community safety and social tensions. However, police have not indicated any connection between those events and the Southall stabbing.

As the investigation progresses, officers continue to appeal for witnesses and additional evidence that may help determine exactly what happened in the moments leading up to Gurbhej Singh's death.
