Ram Kapoor's actions after blocking the Lock Upp 2 job over water have drawn criticism from the internet

Actor Ram Kapoor has once again landed in controversy online after the newest episode of Lock Upp 2, where viewers criticised his behaviour during a task inside the house. Short clips from the episode went viral on social media, with many users calling his actions “embarrassing” and “entitled”, making it one of the most discussed moments of the week.

The backlash comes shortly after Ram was already facing criticism for defending his earlier comments, which he had described as his “sense of humour”. His latest clash inside the Lock Upp 2 house has reignited debate among audiences about his behaviour on the show.

What happened during the task?

The issue began when Ram raised concerns that contestants had repeatedly asked for drinking water but were not provided any. Expressing his frustration, he said, “I have been asking for water for a long time. You guys are making us do this, not giving water. It’s not right. Send water.”

As the task continued and water still hadn’t arrived, Ram stepped into the centre of the task area and stopped the game from progressing.

Host Riteish Deshmukh then warned him that he could be struck by a paintball if he stayed in the way. Ram replied, “Let it hit me, come and hit me.” Riteish then explained that each contestant had already been given a personal water bottle and were expected to carry it during tasks. After this clarification, Ram moved aside and the task resumed.

Social media response

Soon after the episode aired, the clip spread widely online, triggering strong reactions. One user wrote, “This is just too much Ram Kapoor,” while another said, “Why is he overacting so much?”

Others questioned his behaviour, with comments like, “He wouldn’t dare do this in front of Salman Khan.” Another viewer called it “pure entitled behaviour”, while someone else remarked that he seemed to have forgotten he was on Lock Upp and should not expect special treatment.

Why this is his second controversy on the show

This is the second time Ram Kapoor has been criticised since joining Lock Upp 2. Earlier, he faced backlash for defending past remarks in which he compared his hectic promotional schedule to feeling gang-raped, later calling it his “sense of humour”. Contestant Shreya Kalra objected to the comment, saying it trivialised sexual violence. Although Ram later said he was learning from the experience, his response also drew further criticism online.

Lock Upp 2, hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, features 15 contestants including Dheeraj Dhoopar, Akanksha Chamola, Shivangi Joshi, Harshad Chopra, Shreya Kalra, Yogesh Rawat, Pamela Serena, and Akanksha Choudhary. The Netflix reality show streams from Saturday to Wednesday at 8 pm, with the latest episode adding another wave of controversy to the season.
