RRR actor Jr NTR is officially set to team up with director Trivikram Srinivas for a large-scale mythological drama, putting an end to long-running speculation about the project. The film will be produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s NTR Arts in collaboration with S. Radha Krishna’s Haarika & Hassine Creations, and is currently untitled.
Jr NTR announced the project on social media with a caption that reads, “The Son of Shiva. The Pride of Parvathi. The Eternal Commander. And, once again with TRIVIKRAM.” The accompanying poster shows a battlefield-like scene engulfed in flames, with a massive trident (trishul) at the centre. Interestingly, the trident’s central shaft resembles a DNA strand, adding to the intrigue around the film’s mythological undertone.
The imagery and caption have fuelled speculation that the story may be inspired by Lord Muruga (Kartikeya), although the makers have not officially confirmed any mythological basis. Their announcement described the project as: “Born in the North. Forged in the Heartland. Worshipped in the South. Now… a tale destined to belong to the universe.”
This film marks the second collaboration between Jr NTR and Trivikram Srinivas after Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. Music for the project will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, further raising expectations for a big cinematic spectacle.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Jr NTR was recently seen in the title announcement teaser of Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel. The film, slated for release in June 2027, features him as an assassin named Luger and also stars Biju Menon, Rukmini Vasanth, Khushbu Sundar, and Guru Somasundaram.
