Although neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed any wedding plans, a report by The New York Times has triggered renewed online discussion. The report points to permits, hotel reservations, and unnamed sources, which have led fans to speculate that the couple may be planning a wedding around the July 4 holiday weekend.
Swift and Kelce, who announced their engagement in August, have kept details of their future plans private. However, the report claims that activity around July 3 and July 4 has drawn attention to the possibility of a wedding-related event in New York City.
According to the report, street closures have been arranged near Madison Square Garden for several days in early July. Sources cited say a permit was filed to temporarily shut roads around the venue from July 2 until midday on July 4 for an event scheduled for July 3.
The report also states that several Kansas City Chiefs players have reportedly booked hotel rooms during the same period, including stays at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Adding to the rumours, a city official reportedly said Madison Square Garden is expected to host wedding-related events on July 3. The report further claimed that event company Winick Productions applied for permission to set up a temporary tent outside the venue, with space intended for roughly 500 to 999 guests. The application reportedly included plans for truck access for logistics and supplies.
The speculation gained further momentum after Zohran Mamdani appeared to reference Swift’s wedding while discussing upcoming major city events. His comment quickly circulated online, with fans interpreting it as a possible hint of a planned ceremony.
