A guy was lynched on accusations of rape and murder after a 12-year-old girl was discovered dead in Bengal


In West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, a man suspected of raping and killing a 12-year-old girl died after being purportedly murdered on Sunday by the victim's family and locals, sparking tensions and large-scale demonstrations. An SIT has been established to look into the situation, and police have detained an accused BJP employee.

On Sunday, the girl's allegedly revealed the girl's body. Residents in the Surjyapur Haat region responded to the information by recovering the body, which was discovered crammed into a sack close to a pond.

Enraged relatives and locals allegedly attacked the accused man shortly after the body was found. According to investigators, he died after sustaining serious injuries in the assault.

According to Inspector General of Police (Presidency Range) Kankarprasad Barui, an enraged mob beat the man to death after accusing him of being involved in the girl's death.

Following the body's recovery, there were widespread demonstrations in which locals blocked the Baruipur-Joynagar Road, set fire to tires, vandalized many police cars, and demanded that everyone engaged in the murder be arrested right away. To restore order and stop additional violence, a large police force was sent in. IGP Barui used a loudspeaker to address the demonstrators, urging them to end the barricade and promising that anyone connected to the crime will be taken into custody and given the worst punishment possible.
