After the mother-in-law demands that he "kill her to get wife back," the guy poisons the mother

A disturbing case from Uttar Pradesh's Agra district has placed a family under criminal investigation after a man was arrested for allegedly poisoning his own mother. The First Information Report (FIR) also names his mother-in-law, accusing her of supplying the poison and instigating the alleged act. Police are currently investigating these allegations.

The incident was reported from Barpura village under the jurisdiction of the Pinahat police station.

According to the FIR, the alleged incident occurred at around 3 pm on July 9, when Ravindra is accused of mixing a poisonous substance into a serving of chole before giving it to his mother, Rammoorti.

Soon after consuming the food, the woman reportedly fell critically ill and was taken to a hospital, where she remains under treatment.

FIR names mother-in-law

The complaint was filed by the victim's husband, Ranveer Singh.

According to the FIR, Ravindra allegedly told his father that the poison had been provided by his mother-in-law, Phoolwati.

The complaint further alleges that Phoolwati had summoned Ravindra to Gatpura village, where she handed him a packet containing the poisonous substance and allegedly told him that her daughter would return to live with him only if he "removed" his mother.

These allegations are part of the FIR and have not yet been verified. They remain subject to the ongoing police investigation.

Family links incident to land dispute

Ravindra's brother, Mukesh, claimed that the family had recently been involved in a dispute over a piece of land.

He alleged that Ravindra's wife had been living at her parental home and that her mother had made her return conditional upon Ravindra poisoning his own mother.

Mukesh further claimed that Ravindra subsequently mixed poison into a serving of chole and served it to their mother.

These claims are also being examined as part of the investigation.

Investigation continues

Police have registered a case against Ravindra and his mother-in-law, Phoolwati, under Sections 61, 109 and 123 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Ravindra has been arrested, while the investigation remains ongoing.

Police said that further action will be determined based on the victim's medical report, forensic findings and other evidence gathered during the course of the investigation.

Authorities have emphasised that the allegations contained in the FIR are still under examination and that any final conclusions will depend on scientific evidence, the outcome of the investigation and the findings presented before the court.
