Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the updated Hilux in India at a starting price of Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The lifestyle pickup receives a refreshed exterior based on Toyota's "Cyber Sumo" design language, an upgraded cabin with more features and improved connectivity, while retaining its 2.8-litre diesel engine and off-road-focused mechanical setup.
Bookings for the new Hilux have opened from July 28, with customer deliveries set to begin in the second week of August.
Built on Toyota's IMV platform, the ninth-generation Hilux continues with the 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine that delivers 204 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the pickup retains an 80-litre fuel tank to support long-distance touring.
Speaking at the launch, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura said the new Hilux reflects the company's focus on delivering dependable mobility backed by quality, durability and customer trust. Deputy Managing Director Tadashi Asazuma said the updated pickup has been developed for customers looking for a combination of rugged capability and lifestyle appeal. Executive Vice President Sabari Manohar highlighted its refreshed styling, connected technology and comprehensive safety features.
Toyota is offering the Hilux in three automatic variants:
4x2 GX AT: Rs 31.99 lakh
4x4 GX AT: Rs 33.69 lakh
4x4 VX AT: Rs 36.69 lakh

Exterior
The updated Hilux features a more muscular design with a wider front grille, sculpted bonnet and redesigned front bumper finished with piano black accents.
Other exterior highlights include LED headlamps with a welcome function, LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, and a shark-fin antenna.
Interior
Toyota has refreshed the cabin with soft-touch materials, metallic accents and enhanced practicality.
The pickup now comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Toyota i-Connect connected car technology, voice recognition, wireless phone charging, cruise control, PM2.5 air filtration, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, and an eight-speaker audio system. Rear occupants also get 60:40 split-folding seats to improve cargo flexibility.
The Hilux continues to emphasise off-road performance. The 4x4 variants feature Toyota's four-wheel-drive system with High (H4) and Low (L4) transfer case modes, along with an Electronic Differential Lock and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). Suspension duties are handled by a double wishbone setup at the front and leaf springs at the rear.
Safety
The pickup comes equipped with seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic view monitor and Toyota's Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure.
The new Hilux is available in six exterior colours: Super White, Platinum Pearl White, Attitude Black, Emotional Red, Sulphur Metallic and Ash. Customers can also choose from a range of genuine accessories, including headlamp garnish, door garnish kits, side visors and body mouldings.
