A family travelling along the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway was allegedly assaulted after a group of men intercepted their vehicle and attacked them.
The incident was captured on the dashcam of a vehicle travelling behind the family's car and has since gone viral on social media.
The family consisted of a man, his wife, their children and an elderly woman, who were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Alto.
The 52-second video begins with traffic moving normally along the expressway before the Alto suddenly comes to a stop. Shortly afterwards, a group of men is seen approaching the vehicle.
The men allegedly confront the driver, shout at him and forcibly open the driver's door before physically assaulting him.
As the confrontation intensifies, an occupant of another vehicle is seen stepping out in an apparent attempt to intervene.
Despite the intervention, the attackers allegedly drag the driver out of the car. A woman travelling in the Alto also steps out, seemingly trying to stop the assault.
Police have not yet issued an official statement on the incident or confirmed whether any arrests have been made. Further action in the case is awaited.
