The Supreme Court witnessed dramatic scenes on Friday after a complainant appearing in person hurled documents towards the Bench and allegedly shouted abuses during the hearing of his petition challenging an Allahabad High Court order. Security personnel immediately intervened and escorted him out of the courtroom.
The incident unfolded before a Bench comprising Justices KV Viswanathan and Alok Aradhe. Proceedings turned tense when the petitioner adopted an unusually confrontational tone while addressing the judges.
At the very beginning of his submissions, the complainant said, "Mr judicial servant. I order you to order the registration of an FIR against the ACP ... Lucknow."
Surprised by the remark, Justice Viswanathan responded, "You are ordering me? You are ordering us?"
The complainant replied, "That is all from my side. Everything is on record."
The situation escalated moments later when the petitioner threw his case papers into the air and allegedly used abusive language against the Chief Justice, according to Live Law. Chief Justice Surya Kant was not a member of the Bench hearing the matter.
Court security personnel immediately stepped in, removed the complainant from the courtroom and restored order. Throughout the incident, the Bench remained composed and did not respond to the outburst.
